Future Forward Foundation - Serving Pinal County Since 2012

After Lina Austin’s failed bid for Mayor of Florence in 2012, James A. Tchida, a retired Motorola Vice President, approached Austin. “I liked your courage and I liked your platform,” he said. “Let’s make these things happen another way.” Together they created Future Forward Foundation (3F for short). Tchida became the founder and Austin the Executive Director. Today 3F has 5 people on the board of directors and 4 officers. All are actively supporting projects.

Getting Right to Work

3F has previously been involved in numerous programs, most notably painting 23 buildings on Main Street in Florence, planting 300 Willow trees on Willow Street and teaching UA Beginning Farmer and Rancher classes for over 11 years with 380 graduates. 3F also grows and distributes healthy produce to create nutritious meals to the rural hungry. Plus 3F teaches over 25 classes per year.

In 2025, 3F added a 120 ' by 21' High Tunnel greenhouse on our land near the Windmill on Butte. This was funded with an NRCS ~ EQIP contract. In the3 future, this High Tunnel will be open for tours and classes once planted.
